New Beginnings

Now that we have the first week underway, we are certainly more confident than ever that this outreach will succeed. Of course it is a long-term project that requires continual attention and drive, but it is encouraging to see the support of the community. We can rest assured in realizing that we are "backed" by the community!

Day 1

Thanks everyone for coming today! Because of you, our vision for the store is happening. If you didn't stop by today, visit us sometime this week- we're open everyday but Sunday.

Here's a quick story. On Saturday we were doing random tasks around the shop and a couple ladies came in. They were from out of town and wanted to support the ministry before they headed back out. Without customers like them, this ministry opportunity at HATP would never come to fruition.

Opening This Monday

Finishing up the final details has proven to be quite time consuming but also rewarding. It's nice to conclude the work we have spent months working on. The products have arrived and are now on the shelves. Stop by Monday morning at our official opening. Amy, the accounting intern, has been diligent on coding and entering our inventory. Without her skill set, we would be at a disadvantage. Both Jodi and Sandi have had a great vision for the ambience of the shop.

17 days...

The Story: Unfortunately we had to delay opening the shop by one week. HATP is now opening on Nov. 22 at 10a.m. This delay comes because of the construction needs and the pricing, coding, and placing of all the inventory. Adding this week will allow us to compete all the final touches in the shop to make it a better experience for our customers.

20 Days!

We have less than 3 weeks now before the shop officially opens for business. In the coming days there will be extensive improvements on the shop- sign posted, trim hung, products placed. The shop will go from an empty construction site to a well-stocked retail envirnoment. Look for our coupons valid through opening week to be dispersed throughout town.

Shop- Spring of 2010

Preparing for the opening of Hands Around the Plain is a multi-faceted process. These past couple of months have been filled with construction, ordering, planning and watching the vision of HATP actually come to life. We'd like to especially thank all the volunteer groups who have helped with the construction. Our deepest appreciation goes to those who are contributing by donating time and man-power.

Starting Off

We are working fervently on getting the shop ready for opening day (tentatively Nov. 15). The process of selecting product, building inventory, working with construction, and partnering with interns is an energetic experience. The community support is proven to be invaluable with the labor demands of construction for our shop. Thanks all! Every week we get closer to meeting our goals and learning more about the start-up of a business.
